What is real here#

Sverlo is a fictional library; there is no npm package. What is real is the generator behind these docs: docs-engine, a static site generator written from scratch in Node.js with zero dependencies.

  • Markdown goes through a hand-written parser, code through a hand-written tokenizer.
  • The navigation tree, breadcrumbs, table of contents and previous/next links come from the file tree.
  • Two documentation versions (v2 and v1) and two languages (RU and EN) are tied together with hreflang.
  • Search is built at build time and runs in the browser offline: stemming for Russian and English, prefixes, highlighting.
  • Pages read fine without JavaScript. The script only adds search, the theme switch and the code copy button.

Try it#

Press / on any docs page and type "stream" or "потоки". Then switch language and version in the left column: when a page has no counterpart in the other version you land on that version's home.
